JG Hip and Groin

The John Gibbons Hip & Groin Masterclass is an in-depth course designed for therapists looking to refine their assessment and treatment of this complex and highly interconnected region. Covering the hip, groin and sacroiliac joint (SIJ), the course provides a clear and structured approach to understanding both local and referred pain patterns. You’ll begin with a detailed introduction to the anatomy of the region, including surface anatomy, before working through real case studies of patients presenting with hip and groin pain. The course places strong emphasis on differential diagnosis and the specific conditions that affect the hip and groin, alongside thorough examination techniques of the hip joint, lumbar spine, and SIJ. You’ll develop hands-on skills in assessing the hip through active and passive range of motion, orthopaedic testing, and targeted muscle testing to identify dysfunction accurately.

Rehabilitation and treatment protocols are also covered in detail, giving you practical strategies to improve patient outcomes. By the end of the course, you’ll have a more confident, systematic approach to assessing and treating the hip and pelvis—enhancing both your clinical effectiveness and results with clients.
